Meet the team

Strider Fountaine started working in construction when he was 15 years old, gaining hands-on experience on residential and light commercial projects. He graduated from BYU in 2026 with a BS in Construction Management, where he has focused on integrating field operations with project planning and delivery. During his time in school, Strider has served as a project manager with Platypus Design and Construction, working on home builds, residential add-ons, and commercial tenant improvements. He enjoys the construction process and takes pride in seeing projects develop from initial concept through final completion.

Jeff Castillo graduated from BYU-Idaho with a BS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering. During his academic career, he developed a vast knowledge of structural analysis and material behavior which he uses in the design of safe and efficient building systems. Jeff enjoys the structural design process and values the problem solving that comes with each project. He takes pride in creating practical solutions that support both the design team's vision and the client's needs. He is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to projects from early design through construction and enjoys turning concepts into finished products. Jeff's motto is to always listen to the client and work with the contractor - never becoming an enemy. There is never only one solution.

Alejandra Ramirez graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor's Degree in Virtual Design and Construction in December 2023. Since then she has always worked in the construction and design field, focusing on residential drafting but growing her experience in the commercial field. Alejandra has helped with the improvement and standardization of our projects' digital structure, bringing to Platypus Design and Construction her knowledge in CAD and BIM. She is responsible for providing the quality designs and models for each client.
